Recent work at Notting Hill Gate tube station in London has unleashed some hidden treasures from the 1950’s. These amazing advertising posters were found in non-public areas and date from c1956 – 1959, at which point the stations lifts were removed from these passage ways to be replaced by escalators.

London Underground assures that all posters will be left intact, partly because they are not really accessible and probably explains how they have survived for over 5 decades.

These are the official images taken by London Underground.
